A new version of the “Role Manager” Plugin for WordPress is now available.
Some other plugins adding capabilities with spaces and not “_”. All core capabilities and capabilities created with the Role Manager using internally “_” for the spaces. With Role Manager 2.2.0 I introduced a new and strong mechanism to check capabilities. This is the reason why some people got the error message “A valid capability name can only have letters, digits and spaces.”.
But beware: This isn’t a problem of other plugin-authors or of mine. This is an design problem of WordPress because it isn’t specified in the moment. If you are interested in this and other problems behind roles and capabilities you can read this discussion on trac.
The new 2.2.1 release of Role Manager has a new configuration option to permit capabilities with spaces. You can find this on the “Role-/Capability Management General”-Page.
I hope this is a good news for you and I wish you a “Merry Christmas”.
Kind regards, Thomas

I don’t understand your language…I only read U.S. English…but I found a translator.
I just installed your plugin and renamed Subscriber|User role to Guest but was unable to add the |User role. I get the error ‘A valid role name can only have letters, digits and spaces’ though I did check the ‘allow spaces’.
I am concerned about this. Of course I didn’t backup before doing this. Wordpress has been very easy so far.
Should I upload some files to restore the original defaults? Is there a remedy for this?
thanks,
